‘Twas a perfect Tuesday night open mic.
Ya girl hosted her first open mic - Brown Butter Poetry & Vibe - presented by Vow to Self at Daily Press in Brooklyn.
A space for us to come relax our minds + souls through creative expression + dope music. Dj Gflamee had the tunes on point all night. Two amazing featured poets, Trace Howard Depass + Cito Blanko, graced us with their work.
And of course the open mic stage where people from all different walks of life expressed their truths. By express, I mean through poetry, freestyles, melodies, bars, songs, personal stories + dance. You already know I felt inspired to sprinkle a couple poems from Brown Butter in there, too.
I was taken aback by everyone. Huge thanks to those who came through + blessed the room with their presence! Stay tuned for the next Brown Butter Poetry & Vibe.
