PT. 5 Brown Butter Poetry & Vibe Open Mic
Our last open mic of the year ended with a smooth, sultry bang. I hosted the fifth series of Brown Butter Poetry & Vibe open mic presented by Vow to Self at Daily Press in BK.
We had a full list of individuals who signed up to share on the mic, the vibes were definitely flowing. One after the other, songs, poems, guitar melodies, raps and freestyles poured onto the staged.
Of course I had my Shades playlist as our music for the night, it always gets the room grooving just right.
We were blessed to have singer-songwriter BYMADDZ all the way from Jersey as our feature to close out the year. She took us on a journey through her soul session, with affirming original songs like ‘Smile.’ All while dripping gems about the power of being present and honoring our dreams:
Whatever you dream, call it into your world and it will come to you.

I also played a quick set with Franky Payne, who made several appearances with fellow artists on the open mic stage because he’s just that talented. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to create and be a part of a space filled with so much inspiration, healing, truth, creativity, expression, light and love.
