Thoughts on Attracting the Right Opportunities

“You can’t just sit there and wait for people to give you that golden dream. You’ve got to get out there and make it happen for yourself.”

— Diana Ross

Sometimes we claim we want a certain goal or dream to come into fruition, but are we playing our part to make it happen?

Here’s a quick post with things we can do right now to help attract the types of opportunities we want in our lives.

Tips to Attract The Right Opportunities

Start While the Spark Is Hot

Take initiative while the thought is fresh. When the inspiration is there, honor it.  Sometimes we get an idea that we love, but then we start to think about it more, and more, and more, then we find ourselves questioning the whole idea to begin with.

Just start, and take it one step at a time. Which leads me to the next key.

Think One Goal At A Time

No more allowing your big goals / thoughts / ideas to intimidate you. Be comfortable in their grandness. It leads you to feeling more comfortable within your own greatness, the possibilities that you have + your abilities to make it happen. You are capable. Believe it. Own it. Walk in it.

Set small things you can do each day to build to your big goal. If it’s creating more content, start by listing out the type of content you want to share. If it’s writing a book, start with the topics / sections you’d want your book to have. If it’s becoming more consistent working out, start by doing exercises at home for 10-15 minutes.

Small steps add up to bigger ones, and it’s only up from there.

Track Your Progress

Honestly, there’s something so satisfying about looking back at the goals you’ve checked off your list. I keep a dry-erase board on my wall with each day’s main intentions. This has been a HUGE help. As the day goes on I check off what’s been done, and even write little notes like “you go girl!!” to hype myself up. Trust, it makes a difference.

Surround yourself with inspiration

Books that inspire you, people that inspire you, documentaries, music and articles that inspire you. Go to museums + art galleries. Spend some creative time with you. Keep learning + be willing to see where your imagination + creativity takes you, because it always takes us somewhere.

Keep your thoughts positive

Whenever doubt comes in, dodge it. Think 3 positive thoughts for every not positive thought that comes into your mind to help make positivity your main way of thinking. Don’t knock it til you try it!

Be your biggest encourager. Speak good things over yourself and your life. The thoughts and energy we put out is what we attract.

Look Up Resources

One thing I gotta give NYC credit for is having free classes / workshops. Allll you gotta do is Google “free classes for” whatever you’re looking for, and you will find something.

The same goes for events, articles, webinars and even YouTube tutorials! We literally have access to so many resources. We just have to make it a priority to look it up.

When you feel a creative spark, light it up. - Tweet it!

If there’s one thing I want you to take away from this post: when you feel a creative spark, light it up. Hopefully these tips can help ignite the flame.
